Did you know that humans have been awkward since the beginning of time? Have you ever called someone by the wrong name, tripped over something invisible, walked into a closed door, or maybe even blurted out some words that were completely wrong? These are some examples of why we celebrate National Awkward Moments Day on March 18. We all experience these sorts of interactions and sometimes it’s not always pleasant. However, we are all human and sometimes prone to make mistakes.
Although no one has been able to pinpoint the origin or founder of this day, it may have been created to embrace all of the silly moments that take place on St. Patrick’s Day. Awkward Moments Day can be celebrated by seeing the fun in the slightly embarrassing moments and finding the ability to laugh at yourself. Some people find it therapeutic to relive old awkward moments with family and friends.
